Mel Paradis is a not so single girl who loves to teach people how to cook for themselves. A native of Chicago, Mel moved around quite a bit before settling down in Teton Valley, Idaho. There she has had many jobs including waitress, barista, elementary school teacher, drama coach and food columnist. Mel lives in Tetonia with her “whose-bond” Jeff, their dog Mobley Jones and a coop full of chickens.

you have been an invaluable asset to my recent move here so I didn’t have to be a long distance grandma from Portland, Or anymore……haven’t found my “cook for myself” gears in a long time of singleness and your advice has opened up my creative self again, which I thought “unopenable”! First tried your raviolis with some variations of my own added in, and they were GREAT! Loved the small 2 serving pie recipe (I share your aversion to eating anything more than about twice). Thanks for your perspective and sharing of thoughts, which often sound like mine and keep me motivated to cook something for myself instead of falling into “why bother?”

I don’t think its on your blog, but I executed your AWESOME trick of adding carmelized onions to frozen pizza. It was a Trader Joe’s personal sized margherita puff pastry pizza…divine!

i think i do have a post about cutting a frozen pizza into thirds while still frozen so you have just the right amount. not sure if i mention the caramelized onions. so glad you enjoyed that trick.
